Skype Consultations

A holistic consultation with me utilises all my skills rather than just one aspect of my qualifications. Clients find this very beneficial.

I am available for skype consultations.  Certainly in the first instance this is very practical, and we can cover a lot of ground.  I am offering a package of 4 consultations for a reduced rate.  For more information please email me at
purewholeness@gmail.com or call me
on +44 (0) 7816189906

For international clients this can be further reduced as it will be purely advice and consultative based.

I look forward to working with you to restore your health naturally.

Cure your arthritis naturally

Did you know that there are over 200 types of arthritis?  One in five adults in the UK suffers from some form of arthritis!  This sadly is more the case for women than for men.

These are foods that should be avoided where possible:-

Avoid foods from the “deadly night shade group”.  These include potatoes, tomatoes, aubergines and red peppers, chillies.  In my own case, I have found this to be very helpful.  It is advisable to have an allergy test to know what foods your body is rejecting and what is beneficial.
Reduce your intake of coffee, alcohol, fizzy drinks, shop bought-cakes, pies, pastries, bread and pastas that are made with refined white flour and white sugar.  These are all highly acid forming.
Gluten is also a problem for many arthritis sufferers and can be found in wheat, rye and barley.
Oranges and orange juice can make symptoms worse for some individuals, this is due to the high acid content which your body may be rejecting.
It is advisable to greatly reduce cow’s milk, red meat, high fat cheeses (especially stilton), fried foods, sausages, meat pies and chocolate (these are also highly acid forming).
Avoid all white and malt vinegars which are also highly acid forming.
Purine foods such as red meats, alcohol, lentils, shellfish, anchovies, mackerel, herrings, sardines and organ meats are not good either, as they break down in the body to uric acid and this can cause inflammation in the small joints which will aggravate your condition.

Now that we have covered foods to avoid, here are some positive foods to indulge in:-

Cherries, plums and blackberries.  Apples are also very good for you!
Pineapple contains Bromelain which has high anti-inflammatory properties.
Sweet potatoes, pumpkin, apricots, papaya, and carrots are high in carotenes and fibre and sweet potatoes are a good alternative to ordinary potatoes.
Buy or ask your bakery for gluten free alternatives to bread or bake your own, this is a very rewarding past-time.
Eat a lot of fresh green vegetables to re-alkalize your system.  Fresh root ginger can be made into a wonderful pain relieving tea.  Blackstrap molasses is rich in calcium, potassium and magnesium which is very good for your joints.
Buy organic honey and preferably locally produced.  The more unrefined the better too!
Use unrefined organic olive oil as a salad dressing.
Nuts and seeds are a great way to nourish the joints.  Nuts and seeds such as hazelnuts, cashews, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, almonds and walnuts.  A handful as a snack mid morning or afternoon will be a sufficient daily dose.
Try herbal teas such as devils claw (a natural painkiller), nettle (a great detox and blood cleansing herb) or dandelion coffee.  These can all be found at your local health food store, or sourced from your local master herbalist.
Add more turmeric and cayenne pepper to your cooking, these both help to reduce inflammation.
Eat more oily fish – a good source of omega is good for you.  Salmon is one great example.
A more vegan orientated diet has been shown to help many people suffering from arthritis.
Eat plenty of garlic, use brown basmati rice instead of potatoes.
Goat’s milk is a great alternative to cow’s milk and is the closest thing to mother’s milk, this was highly recommended to me when my daughter was projectile vomiting as a baby, and we have never looked back!
Under careful professional guidance, juice fasts can also be very beneficial.

If you are overweight, it is always advisable to try and reduce your food intake and to lose a bit of weight as this only places more stress on your joints.  I have done this effectively through XanGo's Favao weight management and lifestyle program.  It is a powerful detox and a lifestyle program that teaches you invaluable tools that are long lasting.  I have lost 10kg, which is just under 2 stone and have maintained this weight over a two and half year period.  I feel better, look better and am able to be more active than I was previously.
Last but not least, our joints need water to function properly.  Please ensure you drink at least 6 – 8 glasses of filtered water daily.  This will help you to eliminate uric acid which is detrimental to this condition.
A good organic and pure / completely natural and additive free multi-vitamin is highly advisable to be taken on a daily basis.
