On the first of May, the world awakes,
In petal’d hues the soft wind shakes,
With blossoms dancing light and free,
A tender hymn from every tree.
The tulip lifts its painted head,
And bluebells adorn the woodland spread,
The lilacs sing in scented grace,
As sunshine warms the morning’s face.
Each breeze a brush, each leaf a sigh,
The bluebirds flying gracefully on high,
While bees, like secrets, hum and roam,
Through gardens clothed in floral foam.
The earth herself wears joy anew,
In robes of green and skies of blue,
And all around, the pulse of spring
Beats vibrant through each living thing.
So on this day, breathe deep, be still
Let beauty rise, and heart refill.
The first of May has softly come,
And life, once more, begins to hum.
