Delicious Apples

 πŸŽ Delicious Apples 🍎

A wise old saying - “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”

Apples maybe small fruits, but have lots of wonderful benefits.

 • Rich in fiber → supports digestion & keeps you feeling full.

 • Packed with vitamin C → boosts your immune system.

 • Naturally sweet → a great swap for sugary snacks.

 • Contain antioxidants → help protect your cells.

 • Hydrating → about 86% water.

🍏Which is your favourite type of apple?  Do you believe an apple a day is still a pretty good idea?🍏

Use old potatoes

You can use old or sprouting potatoes πŸ₯”πŸ πŸ₯”

Occasionally one finds that you have bought potatoes and they are past their best and starting to grow.

Try putting them into a pot on a window sill or into the garden in a large pot with fresh soil.  They are sure to produce a delicious new crop.

Have you ever tried this before?

Would love to hear from you with your comments and learn how best I can help you.

Hugs are Healthy

Hugs are a great way to increase our feel good hormones.  They increase self confidence, boost heart health and create closer bonds with those we love.  Hugs are healthy.  They lower blood pressure.  When you hug, touch or cuddle up to someone you love your body releases oxytocin which helps you to relax, lowers anxiety and increases your happiness.

Tasty Detox Drink

This is a tasty and very effective detox drink.  Combine two cups of chopped and peeled watermelon (don’t worry about the seeds).  One cup of cucumber, skin and all.  One tablespoon of fresh lemon or lime juice and four or five large mint leaves chopped.  Blend it all together and drink.  I enjoyed this on a strict detox day and feel great.

Our services

As a Holistic Therapist my aim is to heal the body with natural therapies ranging from allergy testing (which encompasses diet, testing for allergies to foods and other substances or things in your home and work place) to Irididology which is a non-invasive method of gaining insight into changes in the body, through the iris of your eye.  Catherine focuses on holistic advice that assists in restoring your health and well-being by looking at your overall current health, health history, diet, what allergies are affecting you and the causes, supplements that will help support you, detoxification, water, recommendations for stress management and exercise.

Clients who have received treatment have experienced a vast improvement in their health.  Conditions have been varied and examples are allergies and intolerance's to food and things in ones home and work place.  Eczema and psoriasis, weight control and management, digestive problems, candida albicans, insomnia, recurring infections, depression, panic attacks, migraines, hormonal imbalances, hot flushes, period problems, mood swings, arthritis and various problems in children.   This list is far from conclusive.  What is ailing you today what we may be able to assist with?

Call Catherine for a free 15 minute evaluation of your symptoms and I will tell you whether or not I am able to assist you.  If I am unable to help you, I will advise you of a more appropriate therapy.   Call me on +44 (0) 7816189906

The first consultation will take approximately one hour.   I will look at your medical history and life history.   Should this first consultation be via Skype, we will discuss your history in detail.   In the event of this first consultation being in person, I may use iridology (looking into the iris of your eye), look at your tongue, nails and hair and skin.

My approach to Natural Health

The healing power of nature can sometimes be under estimated.  Nature has the innate ability to heal everyone.
I identify and treat the cause, there is always an underlying cause, be it physical, mental or emotional.
Do no harm.  As a holistic therapist I never use treatments that may create other conditions.
I treat the whole person.  When preparing a treatment plan, the total persona is being taken into consideration.
A Holistic Therapist empowers the client to take responsibility for their own health by guiding you every step of the way to continual self-care and management.
Prevention is better than cure and a Holistic Therapist will endeavour to remove toxic substances and situations from a patient’s lifestyle to prevent the onset of further disease.

One's body has the innate capacity to heal itself given the right circumstances and conditions.   With natural health and medicine this is possible.   Hippocrates said " Healing is a matter of time, but it is sometimes also a
matter of opportunity."

Tips for travelling abroad

As I chat to more people travelling at this time of year, it is a concern of how to keep your immune system healthy. As different countries have different water systems and other factors in the environment that may affect you, purchase good quality natural probiotic tablets. These sealed tablets may be stored in your luggage, they will certainly be an aid to help maintain healthy gut flora. Also remember to only opt for bottled water. Enjoy your travels :)

Echinacia for colds and flu

Dreaded lingering colds and sniffles are rife this season, one natural aid that certainly does help is Echinacia. You can buy this in tablet, liquid and tea form. I highly recommend the tincture, as this gets into your blood stream faster and is far more effective. Remember not to take more than once course of this treatment as it can damage you liver if you over medicate yourself. However, it does work effectively and within the dosage recommended on the bottle. Try it and don't suffer any longer!

Fresh fruit and vegetables to boost your health

Eating “Five a Day”, has been highlighted as the healthy option for some time now. Why stop there, there is so much fresh and wholesome choice? You don’t have to limit yourself to just five; however for some people consuming vegetables is not their favourite choice! I would encourage you to include some exciting options to ensure you are gaining the essential nutrients your body needs. Try your local farmers market or if you are privileged to have a good green grocer nearby that’s great. Some of my local supermarkets have such spectacular choice too. Explore different varieties of fruit and vegetables, contrast your colours and textures and make it exciting.

Lemons to start your day!

Lemons are a great way to start your day. They boost your immune system and strengthen your liver and colon. A great aid in weight loss and reduces nausea. Drinking lemon water first thing in the morning aids in digestion and helps to eliminate any waste your body might be storing, flushing out toxins. It dissolves uric acid therefore reducing pain and inflammation in your joints. They are high in potassium and help to nourish your brain and nerve cells. Lemons also have great benefits to the skin and aid in the prevention of wrinkles and acne. Lastly, after a strenuous workout, lemon juice helps to replenish the body’s salts.

Tips for weight management

The first rule is never to skip a meal – this is not good for your metabolism.
Eat sensibly and as healthily as possible.  Wholesome natural or organic produce is best.  Processed food or ready-made meals are options that should be avoided.
Drink plenty of filtered water throughout the day 6 – 8 glasses is the recommended.  This also helps to purify and hydrate our skin.
Don’t forget to exercise – in order to burn fat we need to exercise in some form each day for 20 minutes at least 5 days a week.  This will help to increase your metabolism.
